NOTE:
This position requires relocation to Washington, DC.
We are urgently seeking dedicated individuals to join the Secret Service as Protective Services Officers. Key Responsibilities
- Provide protection for key locations including The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and various diplomatic missions and embassies in Washington, D.C.
- Travel to support missions for the President, Vice President, and foreign heads of state/government.
- Enforce protective responsibilities as mandated under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Possess a current valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Must be at least 21 years old at the time of application and under 40 at the time of referral; exceptions apply for current or former federal law enforcement officers.
- Be able to carry and proficiently use a firearm.
- Uncorrected visual acuity must not exceed 20/100 binocular; corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye is required.
- Hearing loss should not exceed 25 decibels in either ear for specific frequency ranges, with the ability to hear a whispered voice at 15 feet in each ear without hearing aids.
- Must pass a drug test prior to appointment and be subject to random drug testing while employed.
- Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA or Artesia, NM, followed by 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must certify registration with the Selective Service System, or provide an exemption.
