Summary Statement:
Security Officer K9:
This position will ensure safety and security to Resorts World property utilizing K9. K9 Handlers will respond to potential emergency situations, medical incidents, and disturbances on property.

Job Duties
  • Maintain the health and safety of Resorts World K9.
  • Maintain the upkeep of K‑9 Kennels and Transportation Kennel.
  • Respond to unattended packages and alert security management if needed.
  • Respond to emergency situations.
  • Work closely with law enforcement personnel to ensure safety of the property.
  • Prepare written incident reports and documentation.
  • Operate company vehicles.
  • Complete a 40‑hour Security Academy within 30 days of hire.
  • Pass quarterly K‑9 training and yearly certification.
  • Knowledge of radio calls and manage emergency calls.
  • Use personal device/cellular phone for job‑related operational tasks, review of company documents, and related duties.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as requested.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and blackouts.
  • Minimum high school diploma.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Two years of prior K‑9 handling experience.
  • Preferred:
    Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
  • Preferred:
    Military or K‑9 handler experience.
Certificates, Licenses and Regulations
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Ability to obtain Nevada Gaming Registration, Alcohol Awareness Card, Nevada Driver’s License, and CPR certification.
Physical Demands
  • Physically fit enough to pick up a K‑9 in an emergency.
  • Must be able to sprint and run with a K‑9 during an emergency.
  • Tolerant to varying noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
  • Prolonged standing / walking.
  • Bending and reaching.
  • Transporting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and maneuvering items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Eye/hand coordination.
  • Ability to comply with policies and procedures, daily memorandums, chemical labels (SDS), and other instructions.
Core Non‑Negotiable Responsibilities
  • Act as an ambassador: take ownership to ensure everything is done in the best interest of the company.
  • Ensure property is treated like your own home; prevent injury, maintain security, keep the environment clean, and meet guest needs.
  • Address safety concerns and notify appropriate department or individual.
  • Report security concerns promptly (“See Something, Say Something”).
  • Pick up trash and notify appropriate department if more attention is needed.
  • Assist guests with a smile and inform the appropriate department if additional assistance is required.
