Position: Perimeter Security (On-Call)

Position Expectations

  • Support and understand LVCVA’s customer service needs and safety initiatives.
  • Secure parking perimeters in a fast‑paced environment, applying sound judgment and quick reflexes in emergencies.
  • Maintain a presence when greeting ambassadors and guests, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Manage access controls, greeting people entering the property, verifying  and vehicle permits, and authorizing access as directed.
  • Monitor overall movement around the perimeter for suspicious activity and unauthorized personnel; report incidents to the appropriate person for assistance.
  • Conduct inspections of the exterior of the facility, opening and closing gates.
  • Monitor equipment lay‑down areas and other designated areas to ensure proper equipment storage and that travel paths remain clear.
  • Practice and monitor safe equipment operations throughout the property’s exterior, ensuring compliance with LVCVA’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Preserve excellent working relationships in a diverse environment and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills with all groups at the LVCVA, including person‑to‑person, radio, telephone, etc.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor the overall movement around the perimeter for suspicious activity, unauthorized property removal, and unauthorized personnel; report incidents as needed.
  • Conduct inspections of the exterior of the facility and open and close gates.
  • Monitor equipment lay‑down areas and other areas as instructed, ensuring proper equipment storage and clear travel paths.
  • Practice and monitor safe equipment operations throughout the property’s exterior, ensuring compliance with LVCVA’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Preserve excellent working relationships in a diverse environment and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills with all groups at the LVCVA, including person‑to‑person, over the radio, telephone, etc.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Education and Skills
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Six months of related experience and training; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Prior military, law enforcement, or security experience preferred.
  • Proficient communication skills with all groups at the LVCVA, including use of person‑to‑person, radio, telephone, etc.
  • Basic Microsoft program knowledge.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
  • Valid Nevada driver’s license at the time of appointment; maintain it during employment.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certifications obtained within 90 days of appointment.

Customer Service Expectations

Ensure persons, vehicles, freight, and other materials are authorized to access the property and comply with LVCVA’s customer safety guidelines. Proactively identify safety risks while meeting the customer service needs of LVCVA ambassadors, show personnel, contractors, attendees, and other guests. Address complaints and offer assistance in resolving challenges.

Safety Expectations

All ambassadors are expected to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of safe work practices and comply with established rules, policies, procedures, and regulations. Ambassadors also eliminate hazards, report incidents, and help maintain a safe environment.

Diversity Expectations

Support and respect cultural diversity, fostering an inclusive workplace. Supervisors and ambassadors must practice diversity as a strength and promote respect for all cultural values, behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes.

Physical Demands
