Airport Senior Program Administrator – Principal Cybersecurity Engineer

The Clark County Department of Aviation (DOA) is seeking qualified candidates to apply for Airport Senior Program Administrator – Principal Cybersecurity Engineer position. This position will supervise a team of cybersecurity professionals and be responsible for cybersecurity functions for DOA. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity threats and an ability to implement and maintain security measures to ensure robust protection against unauthorized access, data loss, or cyberattacks.

This position will encompass not only technical measures, but also the governance, risk management, and compliance aspects of cybersecurity. Additionally, the successful candidate will engage in various cybersecurity initiatives, projects, and other duties as assigned, contributing significantly to the DOA's cybersecurity posture.

This is an open and continuous recruitment; scheduling dates will vary depending on when the application was received and reviewed by Employee Services.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months at either level or may be extended as needed by Employee Services.

This position is confidential and excluded from membership in the union. Also, this classification is designated exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and is therefore, not eligible for overtime.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Finance or a field related to the programmatic area to which assigned and four (4) years of full-time related professional level experience, two (2) years of which were in a lead or supervisory capacity, preferably in a public office setting. An advanced degree in appropriate field preferred. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

License and Certifications: Specified positions may require possession of a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of hire.

Working Conditions: Attend meetings outside of normal working hours.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.

Residency Requirement: Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.

Background Check: Employment with the Department of Aviation is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted and maintain a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration.
