Position Overview

Asset Protection Field Investigator – Burlington Stores, Inc.

Join one of the largest and fastest growing off‑price retailers in the nation and advance your asset protection career. In this role you will direct and oversee all Asset Protection investigative processes in assigned high‑risk stores, collaborating closely with store, field, and district teams as well as operational partners to identify, analyze, and mitigate shortage risk.

• Direct and oversee investigative processes in assigned locations, ensuring they align with company core values and legal/ethical standards.
• React quickly and effectively to leads in partnership with the Burlington Investigations Center, maintaining open, two‑way communication with store and field leaders.
• Execute team‑based investigative deep‑dive methodology to address theft trends at local and market levels.
• Collaborate with supply chain, third‑party providers, and law enforcement to identify and resolve theft and shortage issues.
• Work cross‑functionally with Asset Protection, Shortage Control, Safety, Store Operations, HR, Legal, and Training & Development to coordinate investigations, training, and program compliance.
• Conduct trend analysis of inventory shortage, internal and external theft, and other indicators; communicate findings to key stakeholders.
• Reduce civil exposure by partnering with store teams to correct behaviors inconsistent with policy or company core values.
• Develop and deliver training seminars for Asset Protection field leaders, investigators, and supervisors via in‑store sessions and Web Ex.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or at least 5years of Retail Asset Protection experience.
• Strategic understanding of retail loss prevention and security operations with a proven record of influencing change.
• Experience conducting internal investigation interviews and managing external apprehension programs, successfully resolving incidents.
• Preferred certifications:
  Wicklander‑Zulawski Interviewing Certificate and CFI (Certified Forensic Interviewer).
• Functional knowledge of business tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Creative thinking and ability to translate abstract ideas into tactical concepts.
• Training facilitation experience.
• Capacity to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Independent and collaborative work style; confident leadership with a strong sense of integrity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
