The Building Engineer supports MSG Sphere with the daily operation of all building systems and will be engaged in operating, maintaining, and repairing all facility system equipment and machinery associated with HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems and will ensure to identify best practices for a safe and efficient environment for guests and employees.

The Building Engineer will be qualified to manage the service and repair of HVAC equipment, motors, pumps, air compressors, ice and refrigerating machines, boilers, exhaust fans, cooling towers and plumbing systems. Additionally, the building engineer will operate and monitor BMS, fire alarm, power monitoring, and lighting control systems and provide continuous documentation of alterations, maintenance, and repair. The Building Engineer will also work with the Maintenance Mechanic to coordinate routine maintenance and identify areas or equipment which require immediate assessment and evaluation.

• Service,maintain and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment, pumps, exhaust fans, air handlers, mini split AC units, boilers and all associated valves and controllers.
• Coordinate the inspection and replacement of air filters, belts, bearings, and water filtration equipment.
• Service electrical switch gear in main distribution panels, automatic transfer switches, uninterrupted powersuppliesand lighting control distribution panels.
• Service,maintain and repair lighting fixtures, switches, receptacles, motor control devices andlocateand diagnose electrical system issues with a variety of electrical test equipment.
• Install, repair, or replace conduit and wiringin accordance withlocal codes. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications as applicable to trade specific MEP infrastructure.
• Coordinate, with the Maintenance Mechanics, plumbing repairs on all bathroom fixtures and valves both manual and automatic including toilets lavatories and urinals. Coordinate the service all drain lines and operation of drain cleaning machines,augersand water jet drain cleaning equipment
• With the use of a maintenance management system, administer maintenance procedures and develop intervals for all machinery, record all service and repairs, manage work orders and special projects, andmaintaininventory on parts and consumables.
• Service,maintain and repair kitchen and food service equipment, beverage dispensing systems, walk in coolers, and ice machines.
• Coordinate, with the Maintenance Mechanics, the maintenance and repair of door locksets, cylinders, hinges, panic assemblies, doorclosersand associated hardware.
• Metal fabrication and welding using MIG,TIGand ARC welding processes.
• Operate and monitor fire life and safety systems, sprinklers systems, firepump, smoke controlsystemand all related valves and devices.
• Develops and ensures high levelof service standards for the facility equipment as well as exceptional inter-departmental collaboration, communication, and support.

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a journeyman level buildingengineerpreferably in an arena or public assembly environment.
• Able tooperatea variety of aerial platforms, boomliftsand scissor lifts.
• Strong electrical skills andproficientin conduit bending.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC/R troubleshooting.
• Knowledge in safe rigging and hoisting of heavy machinery.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
• Must be proficient in the safe use of trade related tools and equipment.
