Maintenance Technician B – Diesel Mechanic

Transdev in Las Vegas, Nevada is seeking an experienced B‑Level Diesel Mechanic to strengthen our maintenance team. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across a variety of vehicles and equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity.

• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
• Perform moderate‑complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Assist A‑Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
• Other duties as required.

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
• Must possess a comprehensive mechanic’s tool set.
• Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical, if applicable. Subject to DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40.

• Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale: $38.14 – $46.68 per hour, starting at $38.14 and progressing to $46.68 over 4 years.
• Vacation: up to 1 week per year.

• Work outside in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside.
• Work alone in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances on uneven or slippery surfaces.
• Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the day; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, or crouch as needed.
• Work in heavy traffic areas and tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
