- Commission, program, set up graphics and communications links, and perform end‑to‑end testing, troubleshooting, and servicing on assigned projects
- Document point‑to‑point verification, sequence of operations validation, and job‑close requirements
- Serve as the direct customer contact and ensure customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems on site
- Coordinate with team leader and customer to understand requirements for on‑site installation and repairs by examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials, and synchronizing work
- Stay current on Trane product installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of digital control systems
- Enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security of company assets by recording use, wear, and conditions
- Show team effort and dedication to customer by remaining flexible to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays
- High school diploma or equivalent, or certificate from an accredited technical school
- Typically at least 7 years of experience in HVAC/controls; technical school or formal training preferred
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphone, iPad)
- Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major traffic violations in the past three years
- Previous experience with DDC controls system preferred
- Safely operate a vehicle and use seat belt
- Wear helmets, safety goggles, fall‑protection harness, and safety boots
- Be able to twist the trunk 90 degrees, squat, touch the floor with both hands, reach over head, and stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods
- Regularly use hands, fingers, walk, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and lift or move up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 40 lbs (may occasionally exceed 40 lbs with approval)
- Use ladder with a 375‑lb total weight limit while wearing equipment up to 50 lbs
- Navigating access areas as small as 30” vertical × 45” horizontal
- Access rooftops with extension or fixed ladders at heights of 15’ to 20’, occasionally up to 50 ft
- Be exposed to variable weather, moving mechanical parts, heights, electrical shock risk, noisy equipment, and other environmental conditions based on location
- Position is Safety Sensitive, may require additional drug screening
Base Pay Range: $30 – $50 per hour. Total compensation includes commission/incentive plan. Base pay may vary by seniority, merit, and geographic location.
