Tower Technician Level 1
Alamon, Inc., a Montana-based employee-owned company since 1975, provides installation services to the utilities, energy, and communications industries nationwide. Alamon, Inc. seeks a Tower Technician Level 1 for its Wireless Service department. This position entails: assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of wireless communication infrastructure on cell phone towers, rooftops, and other elevated structures. This is an entry-level position. This position requires an active NWSA (National Wireless Safety Alliance) certification and the ability to travel.
Job Description- Assist in the installation, assembly and maintenance of wireless communication equipment including antennas, cables, and related components.
- Safely handle and transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from the worksite.
- Assist with the setup and operation of rigging, winches, and hoisting equipment.
- Learn and adhere to safety protocols and guidelines set forth by the company and government regulations.
- Assist in routine maintenance checks, inspections and troubleshooting to identify any potential issues.
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- Assist in cleaning, organizing and maintenance of tools to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Report damages and malfunctioning tools and equipment for repair and replacement.
- Adhere to industry standards, regulations, and safety procedures per government and company regulations.
- Work as part of a crew and communicate effectively with other team members to ensure smooth operation.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices.
- Perform other job-duties as assigned.
- Must pass the pre-employment screening process which includes a background check, drug test and motor vehicle records pull.
- Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors, in a physically demanding work environment and all-weather conditions, lifting or moving up to 50lbs., and hiking over various terrain.
- Possess a current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no DUI / DWIs within the past 5 years.
- Be available to work nights and weekends as required by project demands.
- Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
- This position will work outdoors, year-round, in all weather conditions, and on varying terrain. May work for long periods in hot, cold, wet, windy, or icy conditions.
- Exposure to dust, odors, gases, vapors, wet or slick surfaces, and loud noises is possible.
- Must always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations.
- This is a physically arduous position that requires working outside in varying weather types and exposure to the elements.
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Be comfortable at heights of 1000 ft or more.
- Must be willing to work either day or night shifts when necessary.
- Occasional travel will be required based on the needs of the project.
- Transportation and lodging are provided while traveling and working out of town for the Company.
- Trade school or equivalent experience.
- High school Diploma or GED Preferred.
- Demonstrate abilities to successfully complete job tasks while accepting full responsibility for the safe operations and maintenance of the vehicle, equipment, and tools.
