Regular Work Schedule
Typically, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm Monday through Friday with extra hours assigned as needed; the work week is Monday through Sunday, and the regular work days and hours are assigned by the direct supervisor based on business needs.
Position SummaryThe Maintenance Technician supports all maintenance activities to ensure production equipment and preventative maintenance plans are properly scheduled, communicated, and completed on time. This role is responsible for setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and facility assets, keeping all equipment and facilities functioning safely and efficiently. Success requires safe work habits, strong attention to detail, excellent time management, independent troubleshooting, and exceptional attendance.
The Maintenance Technician must perform well in a fast‑paced environment with urgency while delivering excellent internal customer service. They must be capable of following and creating written and verbal instructions, workflows, processes, and procedures, and thrive both independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain constant awareness of safety for self and others.
- Keep workstations and production areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Manage regular maintenance of production equipment.
- Inspect equipment prior to use for proper setup and alignment.
- Adhere to all company and OSHA safety programs.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
- Assist in using data to plan long‑term and short‑term equipment overhauls and upgrades.
- Help manage spare parts inventory within budgetary guidelines.
- Coordinate outside contractors for in‑house projects as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the maintenance department; experience with 5S concepts is a plus.
- Ensure the availability of necessary tools to complete maintenance tasks facility‑wide.
- Take proactive measures to minimize downtime and support on‑schedule project delivery.
- Identify, design, recommend, and implement maintenance projects in collaboration with management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including cross‑department assignments.
- 2+ years of direct intermediate maintenance experience in a factory setting, including maintenance of air compressors, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, HVAC, and specific operational machinery.
- 2+ years of intermediate skills in machine rebuilding.
- 2+ years of intermediate fabrication skills, capable of building small frames, guards, and machine mounts.
- 2+ years of intermediate welding skills, including arc and MIG welding, and proficiency with cutting torch.
- 2+ years of intermediate electrician skills, including running small conduit per NEC standards and basic wiring knowledge.
- 2+ years of basic building maintenance experience (bathroom, lighting, drop ceiling repairs).
- Strong communication skills across all organizational levels, including vendors and contractors.
- Self‑motivated and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents.
