Your role
Are you a mechanically inclined person who enjoys working with your hands? Beacon Medaes is seeking a qualified medical gas Field Service Technician for the Las Vegas, Nevada area. This is an ideal opportunity for a highly motivated and energetic individual to become part of our team. In this role you are expected to perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical gas equipment at customer facilities, including the completion of relevant paperwork and reports.
Your mission is to generate and maintain critical relationships with existing customers, promoting the Beacon Medaes standard of excellence – keeping us First in Mind, First in Choice.
- Preventative Maintenance and Repairs (85%)
- Perform routine, preventative maintenance, and repairs on Medical Gas Products in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
- Diagnose malfunctioning products, determine causes, and perform repairs as suggested by diagnostics.
- Test and document proper operating parameters before and after maintenance and repairs.
- Provide walk‑through evaluations and basic system assessments.
- Provide a high level of customer service, responding to customer needs and working to satisfy customer expectations.
- Develop rapport with customers through effective communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism.
- Serve as an ambassador for Beacon Medaes.
- Train and assist other Service Technicians as requested.
- Provide technical support to other departments and personnel as required.
- Always promote and practice proper safety procedures and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a professional image through appearance and personal actions.
- Uphold a positive company brand through appropriate attention to the appearance of the company vehicle.
- Maintain the service vehicle per manufacturer's recommendations.
- Properly store and manage inventory levels of accuracy, to provide quick customer repairs.
- Recordkeeping and Documentation (10%)
- Complete job reports daily.
- Submit timesheets weekly.
- Turn in expense reports at least monthly.
- Complete other job‑related paperwork as required.
- Warranty Part Returns (5%)
- Return parts replaced under warranty as requested by Technical Support, Quality or Service Management.
- Complete returns within two weeks.
- Perform assigned duties in accordance with Beacon Medaes standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.
- Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish/maintain communication with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done.
- Perform additional assignments as required.
Experience
- 5+ years of technical field service experience maintaining and repairing various types of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, overhaul and repair of a wide variety of compressed air or vacuum equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Must have ASSE 6040; ASSE 6030 or ASSE 6020 credentials.
Education
- Associate degree or equivalent.
- Technical training in mechanical and/or electrical, or equivalent experience.
Skills
- Must be comfortable using a computer.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical components.
- Customer focused and takes ownership of meeting the customer’s needs.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
Travel
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- The ability to travel on short notice may be required.
- Occasional overnight travel is necessary.
