Position Summary
Performs journey-level maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic equipment systems.
SalaryAlthough a salary range is available for this position, the candidate hired will receive a salary at the bottom of that range.

Working ConditionsMay work shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship in electronics or equivalent education or experience.
- Two (2) years of full‑time journey‑level experience in electrical and electronic troubleshooting and repair.
- Valid Class C driver’s license at time of application.
- Maintain a valid Class C driver’s license.
Employment is contingent upon completion of a comprehensive background investigation, including verification of education/apprenticeship/experience, social security trace, criminal history review, driving history check, drug‑test verification, and personal credit history review.
Medical Examination / Drug ScreeningEmployment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by an examining physician and a DOT pre‑employment drug screening.
Physical DemandsPhysical ability to perform construction and related work, including climbing and/or crawling in non‑handicap‑accessible areas; stamina to stand and walk for extended periods; strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds with proper equipment; vision to read printed materials; hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
HazardsWork is subject to exposure to noise, high voltage and electrical hazards, fumes, chemicals, and solvents.
Example of Duties- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical equipment for conformance to established standards.
- Plan sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment based on blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and specifications.
- Disassemble instruments and equipment, inspect components for defects, align, repair, and replace component parts and circuitry, and reassemble and calibrate.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance based on equipment specifications and OEM manuals.
- Support inventory management of parts and supplies.
- May be required to drive revenue‑generating vehicles in the bus yard.
- Operate a variety of office equipment, including computers and associated software.
- Provide information and assistance to internal and external customers as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
