Cement Mason

Overview

Amentum is seeking a Cement Mason for the North of Las Vegas, NV. The incumbent reports to a Cement Mason Journeyman and works with concrete by placing, finishing, protecting and repairing concrete in engineering, construction and renovation projects. This position is represented by a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

• Place, level, and finish concrete using a power screed machine or by rodding with a straight edge.
• Proficiently use hand tools such as bull floats, hand floats, and hand trowels.
• Operate gas-powered trowel machines, grinders, bushings, etc.
• Place/finish on-grade concrete via slip-form paver.
• Spray curing compounds and confirm curing effectiveness.
• Repair concrete spall and cracks; remove and replace with rapid-set concrete.
• Perform concrete joint repairs, crack chasing, and epoxy entrainment work.
• Grout by hand or pump as required.
• Wear respirator when handling epoxy or cementitious materials.
• Comply with all safety practices and environmental regulations.
• Maintain computer skills for time keeping programs and MS Office products.
• Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

• Education/
  
  Certifications:
  
  High School Diploma or GED; OSHA-10 card; CPR/First-Aid; ACI Certification for Flatwork finishes; able to meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain government Top Secret security clearance and access to the work location.
• Experience/
  
  Skills:
  
  Journeyman level ability to place, level, and finish concrete; proficiency with hand tools and power equipment; familiarity with on-grade concrete finishing, epoxy use, crack repair, and grouting; ability to operate concrete finishing equipment and perform spall/crack repairs.
• Safety/Compliance:
  Ability to wear a respirator when handling epoxy or cementitious materials; comply with safety practices and environmental regulations; pass pre-hire drug screening and Fit-for-Duty physical.
• Other:
  Must be able to work in a remote location with limited medical personnel and facilities; bring required documents (Social Security Card, birth certificate or naturalization certificate, valid driver’s license) and listed certifications.

• Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Frequent lifting/carrying 10 to 50 pounds; frequent pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds of force.
• Occasional climbing and walking on rebar over forms; constant kneeling, crouching and crawling during finishing tasks.
• Constant use of hands and arms; near- and mid-range vision; hand-eye coordination; and interaction through speaking and listening.

Compensation: $46.61 per hour. The listed rate is a good-faith estimate; actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable laws.
