The Korte Company is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team. The Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work on commercial and government construction projects while also assisting with general construction labor and performing other duties as assigned to support project operations. This position constructs, installs, repairs, and maintains building frameworks, structures, and finishes while ensuring all work meets company quality standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.

- Completion of necessary carpentry projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and project plans.
- Construct, install, and repair wood, metal, and composite building components.
- Build and install wall framing, floor systems, roof structures, doors, windows, cabinets, trim, and other finish carpentry elements.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials using hand and power tools.
- Install temporary structures including scaffolding, bracing, and concrete forms.
- Perform layout work to ensure proper placement and alignment of structural components.
- Assist with concrete formwork, placement, and stripping as needed.
- Install blocking, backing, insulation, and miscellaneous specialty items.
- Assist with general construction labor and perform other duties as assigned to support project operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Travel to project sites as required.
The characteristics listed below are representative of those sought to perform this job successfully.
- Working knowledge of concrete, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and general repair skills
- Experience with commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, or government construction projects is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment
- Basic mathematical and measurement skills
- Able to work independently
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Prioritize and multi-task within time constraints
- Valid driver’s license required
Qualified applicants will have:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or equivalent field experience
- 3+ years of commercial construction carpentry experience preferred

This position will be at the worksite or in the office depending on work responsibilities. The worksite environment is constantly changing and may include:
- Wet and/or humid conditions
- Moving mechanical parts
- High, precarious places
- Risk of electrical shock
- Outside weather conditions, such as extreme heat and extreme cold
- Moderate to loud noise levels
