As an Irrigation Technician III, you will be specially trained to operate specialized equipment and perform specific tasks related to the maintenance of the golf course irrigation system.
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Six months experience as an Irrigation Technician II or at least two years in a similar position
- Ability to operate golf course irrigation systems and golf course machinery
- Perform all duties and/or tasks relative to the Irrigation Technician I and II positions
- Maintain logs for the operation, maintenance, and gas usage of each machine
- Perform daily tasks necessary to keep the maintenance facility clean, organized, and a safe working environment
- Clean machinery after each use; inspect all equipment and report deficiencies to the Equipment Manager
- Perform other functions and routine irrigation systems repairs as directed by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent I, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent II, or Irrigation Foreman
- Complete training in proper procedures required to perform each task before execution
- Follow guidelines in the Golf Course Maintenance Operations Manual for each specific task
- Perform specific tasks related to Irrigation Technician I, II, and III training, including:
- Advanced pipe repair
- Thorough product knowledge of all parts and irrigation inventory used on the golf course
- Basic electrical repair knowledge
- Basic pump station repairs and maintenance
- Thorough knowledge of central irrigation control programming
- Basic irrigation system design and layout knowledge
- Basic drainage, design, and installation knowledge; locate pipes and wires with location instruments
- Communicate on a regular basis via two‑way radio system
- Wearing personal protective clothing and/or protective equipment to comply with safety standards
- Execute special projects or other duties as assigned
- Pay Range – $17.25–$20.00 per hour
Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling, or pushing up to or over 50 pounds and moving or lifting items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Employee must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
