Position PurposeThe Maintenance Service Professional provides commercial and industrial minor equipment repair and preventive maintenance services in big box retailers and other facilities. The role also includes general facilities’ maintenance and refrigerant recycling in some markets.
Representative equipment includes paint shakers, blind cutting machines, mobility carts, power stocker lifts, dock plates, pipe threaders, ladders, saws, carousels, compactors, bailers, densifiers, pre-crushers, and light construction repairs such as carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing.
The technician conducts maintenance and minor repairs at various locations within a reasonable radius, driving a company vehicle.
Key Responsibilities- Administrative & Communication (30%):
Document work, maintain parts inventory, file expense reports, organize tech stock, communicate with business partners and customers, complete training. - Compliance and Safety (10%):
Follow safety practices, adhere to company safety rules, address safety issues, complete vehicle inspections. - Preventive Maintenance & Light Repairs (60%):
Perform repairs and maintenance, respond to service calls, troubleshoot equipment, perform inspections, and travel between store locations as needed.
This position reports to the Region Equipment Services Manager and has no direct reports. It requires overnight travel 5-20% of the time, physical exertion, and working in various environments including outdoors and indoors with exposure to temperature extremes, noise, fumes, and chemicals. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work at heights up to 20 feet is necessary.
Minimum qualifications include being 18 or older, legally permitted to work in the U.S., possessing basic mechanical aptitude, good communication skills, a valid driver’s license with a good record, and proficiency with electronic devices.
Preferred qualifications include experience in building maintenance, electrical knowledge, schematics reading, and EPA 608 certification. No specific educational or leadership experience is required.
