Nevada Health Centers is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position will support our locations in Southern Nevada. If you have a minimum of 2 years working in building trades it is highly recommended you apply.
Position SummaryThis is a non-exempt, full-time position where the employee receives supervision from the Maintenance Supervisor and performs a variety of skilled work in the maintenance, repair, alteration and construction of building facilities, equipment, fixtures and medical equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain and repair NVHC facilities, equipment and buildings by performing a variety of skilled carpentry, electrical, painting, plastering, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and mechanical repair work
- Inspect building facilities to identify building maintenance needs
- Install, adjust, repair and inspect a variety of electrical, electronic and pneumatic climate controls and valves involved in heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment
- Repair and replace plumbing fixtures including pumping systems, sinks, toilets, faucets and pipes; clear obstructions from plumbing pipes
- Repair or replace electrical and electronic systems related to facility lighting, alarms, computer and communications systems; measure, cut, thread and install electric wires, cable and conduit
- Construct, install, remodel, paint and repair a variety of facility components such as counters, tables, desks, bookshelves, cabinets, partitions, walls, windows, doors
- Install, repair and maintain door locks
- Install, repair and maintain office and medical equipment
- Operate, maintain and repair a variety of mechanical tools and equipment such as power saws, power sanders, drills, paint sprayers, grinders and electric generators. Some tools will be provided by NVHC, others will be provided by the employee
- Operating an assigned vehicle to drive between job sites, to obtain materials/supplies, or for vehicle maintenance purposes.
- Read and interpret sketches, diagrams, drawing and blueprints
- Respond to maintenance requests through e-mail or work ticket software system or through telephonic requests
- Monitor and maintain preventative maintenance records and logs
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Must perform all duties in a safe manner
- Graduation for high school or the equivalent
- 2 years of experience in one or more of the building trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or carpentry)
- HVAC Certification is highly desirable
- 1 year of skilled facility maintenance experience is highly desirable
- Must have and maintain a current Nevada driver’s license
- Must meet NVHC’s driver requirements, including regularly providing driving records, participating in driver training, and complying with NVHC Fleet Safety Policy.
- Must be punctual, reliable, deadline-sensitive, and possess a pro-active mindset
- Operational and maintenance techniques and procedures used in the repair of a full range of building facilities, equipment and systems
- Occupational hazards and necessary precautions applicable to building and mechanical maintenance work.
