Position: SOCIAL WORKER I/II

The Clark County Social Services Department is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Social Worker I/II position. As a member of our team, you will conduct casework interviews with clients and their family members to obtain information for formulating program/service eligibility and case status. You will identify social, economic, and physical needs of clients; assess client's support systems, available community resources and other factors to plan, develop, and implement an appropriate service plan.

In this position, you will also refer clients to appropriate agencies and resources, and advocate for or assist the client in obtaining such services. You will provide basic intervention, and client and family counseling, as needed. This role requires preparation of complete and accurate case notes and other written correspondence, such as reports, statistics, and summaries.

Clinical & Community Services

The Clark County Clinical & Community Services Department is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Social Worker I/II position. This position works primarily with adults in the community who are in need of care coordination, especially following a mental health crisis. Clients may be self-referred or referred by Metro or UMC’s Crisis Stabilization center. Visits can occur in the office, via phone, or in the field, including home visits with or without Metro detectives from the LVMPD Crisis Intervention Team (CIT).

In this role, the Social Worker I/II conducts home visits, responds to crisis situations, assesses client needs, utilizes brief intervention skills, makes referrals, completes case notes, corresponds with clients and community partners, and provides mental health/substance use service navigation. The goal of this position is to assist adults to navigate mental health and other care services to reduce the dependence on law enforcement and emergency rooms by connecting citizens to appropriate service providers and providing care coordination to ensure follow through.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

Social Worker I: $31.20 - $46.05

Social Worker II: $33.65 - $49.74

The Social Worker I is a training underfill position, upon successful completion of the training program the successful candidate will be non-competitively promoted to Social Worker II.
