About The Position
The City of Las Vegas Youth Development & Social Initiatives Department, Batteries Included Unit is seeking qualified Adult Advisors for Batteries Included programs who will work with middle and high-school aged youth. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing community activities and events that support youth and families, ensuring programs are engaging, culturally responsive, and aligned with community needs.
The role also serves as a Batteries Included Advisor, providing strategic guidance, strengthening partnerships, and supporting the development and improvement of community initiatives. Strong project management skills are a plus for organizing timelines, and resources, as well as leading collaborative efforts that enhance program quality and promote positive outcomes for participants. The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list for future openings.
Supervision Received:
Receives general supervision from higher level supervisory or management staff. Selection Process:
Final candidate selection may include hiring interview (if applicable). Any individual offered employment will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test, complete background check, and may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements of the job.
NOTE:

Duties include but are not limited to:
Performs routine, mid-level work with minimal supervision; provides assistance to full-time or part-time classified staff or designee; assists program participants with college preparation, job readiness, and leadership development. Maintains record on all participants, keeps record of site budget, chaperone trips, and events. Recruits new members, attend all meetings with participants or by full-time or part-time classified staff, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum 21 years of age. Two years of experience working with teens or adults in career development, leadership, life skills and/or education. Course level work in education or community outreach or a related field of study may substitute for the experience. Experience in career development is desirable. Preferably employed in a CCSD High School associated with Batteries Included desired.
Possess a valid Driver's License at the time of application and maintain thereafter.
