Overview
Engineering Manager to lead the Continuous Integration (CI) and Build Infrastructure team. Responsible for the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of development pipelines to enable engineers to ship high-quality software quickly and confidently.
What You’ll Do- Leadership & Strategy
- Define and drive the vision for continuous integration and developer productivity infrastructure.
- Lead and mentor a team of CI engineers, fostering ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Partner with engineering leadership to align CI systems with product and platform goals.
- Systems & Operations
- Own the design, scalability, and reliability of build and CI pipelines across multiple services and platforms.
- Optimize build times, test coverage, and reporting to provide fast, reliable feedback to developers.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration & Enablement
- Work with engineering teams to ensure smooth integrations and deployment workflows.
- Identify developer pain points and lead initiatives to improve productivity through tooling, automation, and best practices.
- Advocate CI/CD practices to raise engineering efficiency standards across the organization.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in CI/CD, build systems, or developer productivity.
- Strong background in modern build/test automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Circle
CI, Buildkite, Bazel). - Familiarity with cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Solid programming background (Python, Kotlin, Java, or similar) and ability to guide technical decision-making.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance long-term vision with short-term impact.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and growing high-performing teams.
- Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $225,000 - $275,000. USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $200,000 - $250,000.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents).

Remote - United States. Affirm is remote-first; most roles are remote. Some roles may require working from an Affirm office occasionally.
