IOS Developer

Smacktok is a social ecosystem in the Daily Fantasy Sports industry, allowing fans to connect with their communities, compete in skill-based games to win real money. We’re a sports bar in your pocket - the heartbeat of sports. We’re a fast-paced in-person culture in our early stage Seed round.

We’re looking for a senior iOS engineer to own and evolve our iOS application. This isn’t a greenfield project - we have a production app with real users, real money transactions, and real regulatory requirements. You’ll work directly with the CTO and a small engineering team across iOS, Android, backend, and web.

You’ll be building features that span betting mechanics, social features, payments, and real‑time data - all while maintaining the security and compliance standards required for a regulated gaming platform.

• Building and maintaining complex UIKit and Swift
  
  UI interfaces - compositional layouts, diffable data sources, custom cells with intricate state management
• Integrating with our backend services
• Working with third‑party SDKs for chat, analytics and regulatory compliance SDKs.
• Maintaining and extending our security iOS infrastructure
• Implementing real‑time features: live betting boards, odds updates, wallet balances
• Handling regulated gaming requirements: geofencing integration, responsible gaming features
• Shipping features end‑to‑end, from understanding the backend contract to pixel‑perfect UI implementation

• 5+ years of iOS development, Swift, UIKit and SwiftUI
• Deep experience with complex, cell‑based UIs - you’ve built table/collection views with multiple cell types, custom layouts, and diffable data sources
• Strong understanding of iOS architecture patterns, primarily MVVM with View Models and View Controllers, protocol‑based delegation
• Experience integrating third‑party SDKs and debugging integration issues
• Comfortable with networking: REST, gRPC, Web Sockets, handling real‑time data
• You’ve worked on apps where security matters - understanding of code signing, app integrity, runtime protections
• Experience with async/await, Combine, or similar reactive patterns
• Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
• Understanding of Apple’s design principles and human interface guidelines
• Knowledge of low‑level C‑based libraries is preferred
• Knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
• Familiarity with continuous integration (Xcode Cloud)

• Experience with sports betting, fantasy sports, or fintech apps (Prize Picks, Draft Kings, Fan Duel, Underdog, Cash App, etc.)
• Familiarity with regulated industries - KYC/AML flows, geofencing, compliance requirements
