Software Engineer, C# / Unity Developer
Position Summary
The Software Engineer will be part of a team that creates and implements technology used by Light & Wonder to support internal products and customer-centered innovation. The position holder will design, develop, test, and integrate software products alongside a global team of engineers.
Essential Job Functions- Work with a team to develop innovative features and functionality for Light & Wonder products, utilities, and tools
- Research new technologies to modernize and elevate existing Light & Wonder products
- Refactor, improve, and optimize existing code base
- Design and build libraries that will be shared with other Light & Wonder products
- Adopt best coding practices such as secure coding guidelines, test-driven development, and continuous integration workflow
- Provide prompt resolution to bugs/issues using debugging skills
- Gaming industry experience is preferred but not required
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrable knowledge of C# and C++
- Knowledge of client-server architecture fundamentals
- Demonstrable knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and principles
- Familiarity with database architecture
- Comfort with software development tools such as IDEs/compilers, debuggers, profilers, and version control systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset
- Demonstrable knowledge of SQL query writing
- Familiarity with web UI design
- Knowledge of operating system fundamentals
- Knowledge of Power Shell
- Familiarity with development tools such as Visual Studio, Perforce, Git, Jira, etc.
- University (4 years) degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
