Athletic Trainer / Fitness Instructor

Position Summary:
The Head Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and direction of the high school flag football program. This includes developing student-athletes’ skills, fostering teamwork, ensuring safety, maintaining program compliance with school, district, and athletic association policies, and promoting sportsmanship both on and off the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and direct the flag football program at the varsity level.
- Oversee and support all levels of the program (JV, freshmen, if applicable).
- Conduct tryouts, develop rosters, and evaluate player progress fairly and consistently.
- Develop and implement effective practice plans focusing on skill development, conditioning, and strategy.
- Provide game management, including lineups, play-calling, and in-game adjustments.
- Teach and model positive character, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
- Supervise assistant coaches and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, administrators, and staff.
- Ensure compliance with school, district, league, and state athletic association rules.
- Monitor academic performance and eligibility of student-athletes, encouraging academic success.
- Promote athlete safety by following best practices for injury prevention, recognition, and reporting.
- Manage program equipment, uniforms, and inventory.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director on scheduling, budgeting, and program needs.
Qualifications:
- Prior coaching experience, preferably in flag football or football, at the high school or higher level.
- Strong knowledge of flag football rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to positively motivate student-athletes and build team culture.
- Valid coaching certifications (as required by state and district).
- Current CPR/First Aid certification

Stipend $6,790.00 (As specified in applicable union contract) - Employment Period:
Length of softball season, including recruitment and practices prior to, and championship contests and other events related to the sport following the regular season. - Non-tenurable position.
