Truck Driver

Job Overview

The Delivery Driver will collect packages, deliver them to customers, maintain logs of routes and schedules, and obtain recipient signatures. They will operate a flatbed delivery truck or van safely and efficiently within the assigned area.

• Safely transport various products and materials to and from specified locations in a timely manner.
• Operate trucks on overnight trips.
• Operate trucks in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Assist with the loading and offloading of products and materials.
• Adjust travel routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction.
• Promptly inform the company of any tickets issued against the company vehicle during work hours.
• Ensure the company vehicle is parked in approved areas to avoid towing.
• Keep the company vehicle clean and properly maintained through regular washing, cleaning, and maintenance.
• Provide accurate time records of the company vehicle’s movements.
• Report any accidents, injuries, or vehicle damage to management.

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proven experience as a truck driver with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL Class
  
  A).
• Sound knowledge of road safety regulations.
• Ability to utilize maps, GPS systems, and car manuals.
• Punctual and dependable.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction.
• Maintain high integrity and positive relationships with co‑workers, customers, and suppliers.
• Strong work ethic and initiative.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

The role requires frequent visual and auditory attention and the ability to place tags on appropriate materials. It involves continuous computer use to receive and give information. The position may expose employees to hazardous machinery, sharp tools, moving objects, noise, heat, and humidity.
