CDL Class A Driver – Heavy Equipment Transport / Side Dump / Belly Dump

Full-Time | Local Hauling & Heavy Equipment Transport | Day, Night & Graveyard Shifts

Werdco is currently hiring experienced CDL Class A Drivers for heavy equipment transport and aggregate hauling operations throughout the Las Vegas area. This position may operate lowboy/equipment transport trailers, double belly dumps, side dumps, end dumps, and other commercial vehicles based on operational needs.

We are seeking experienced, safety-focused drivers who are comfortable transporting heavy construction equipment, machinery, aggregate materials, and other loads between jobsites, yards, pits, plants, and customer locations.

This is a safety-sensitive position requiring strong commercial driving skills, knowledge of load securement, attention to equipment condition, and compliance with all applicable DOT, FMCSA, company, and jobsite safety requirements.

Position Responsibilities
  • Safely operate Class A commercial motor vehicles and assigned trailers
  • Transport heavy construction equipment and machinery between jobsites, yards, and other designated locations
  • Operate lowboy and/or equipment transport trailers as assigned
  • Safely operate double belly dumps, side dumps, end dumps, and other company equipment as needed
  • Transport aggregate and construction materials to designated jobsites, plants, pits, and customer locations
  • Safely load, position, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment
  • Properly secure equipment and loads using chains, binders, straps, and other approved securement devices
  • Inspect all load securement before movement and throughout transport as required
  • Verify load weight, height, width, length, and securement before transport
  • Understand and comply with applicable weight, clearance, and routing restrictions
  • Perform required daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Conduct routine equipment checks, including tires, brakes, lights, fluids, coupling devices, trailers, chains, binders, and other safety equipment
  • Promptly report maintenance issues, equipment defects, damage, or needed repairs
  • Maintain accurate and complete DVIRs, logs, and other required documentation
  • Comply with DOT, FMCSA, state, local, company, and customer requirements
  • Follow all company safety policies and safe driving procedures
  • Follow jobsite, plant, pit, mine, and customer-specific safety requirements
  • Maintain professional communication with dispatch, supervisors, operators, customers, and jobsite personnel
  • Safely maneuver commercial vehicles and trailers in active construction and industrial environments
  • Assist with positioning equipment for loading and unloading when required
  • Perform other transportation and driving-related duties as assigned
Heavy Equipment Transport

Drivers assigned to equipment transport may be responsible for transporting various types of construction and industrial equipment, including but not limited to:

  • Excavators
  • Loaders
  • Dozers
  • Motor graders
  • Skid steers
  • Rollers and compactors
  • Water trucks
  • Off-road equipment
  • Construction machinery
  • Attachments and related equipment

Drivers must understand proper equipment placement, weight distribution, tie-down points, chain and binder use, and load securement requirements for the equipment being transported.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid Class A CDL required
  • Doubles/Triples endorsement required
  • Tanker endorsement required
  • Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate required
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
  • Heavy equipment transport experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with lowboy and/or equipment transport trailers strongly preferred
  • Verifiable experience operating one or more of the following preferred:
    • Lowboy / Equipment Transport
    • End Dumps
    • Double Belly Dumps
    • Side Dumps
  • Aggregate, construction, or heavy-haul experience preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT-compliant cargo and equipment securement practices
  • Ability to safely use chains, binders, straps, and other load securement equipment
  • Ability to safely load and unload equipment or coordinate loading/unloading with equipment operators
