Valiant Distribution, a leading distributor of smoking accessories, is seeking a passionate and detail‑oriented Warehouse Associate. This is an onsite role located in Las Vegas, NV.
The position performs a variety of general Distribution Center functions including receiving, inventory, shipping with customer compliances, loading, high lift and forklift operations to safely and efficiently assist the facility in meeting daily production and customer service requirements. Assist the Warehouse Manager and Assistant Managers in any way possible to make the work of the warehouse run smoothly and efficiently. Related duties are to assist in the completion of various job functions.
This may include keeping areas clean and clear of obstacles that may interfere with the safety of operations and personnel.
- Assist and prepare materials for receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise.
- Match incoming and outgoing products with purchase orders.
- Verify shipping products expiration codes.
- Inspect products to ensure good condition.
- Operate Pallet Jack in a safe manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area and workstations neat and free of obstructions.
- May be required to assist with scheduling freight appointments.
- May lift cases of product and/or stock merchandise according to documented procedures.
- Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking of shipped products.
- Create a daily shipment schedule.
- Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required.
- Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer. May also assist in counting of physical inventory.
- Sort and place materials or items on rack, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards.
- Perform quality audits of the condition of goods for outgoing items prior to signing off.
- Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
- Follow current standards and procedures.
- Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if there are multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete.
- Problem solving for any cases of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries.
- Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Make deliveries by company vehicle as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience in warehouse operations.
- Ability to repetitively lift, carry and push 50 lbs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to weigh and measure items.
- Working knowledge of safe lifting methods.
- Must be willing and able to wear steel toe boots while working.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team, and independently.
- Computer literacy including Excel spreadsheets and email.
- Attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Strong organizational skills, time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Your starting hourly wage will be $17.50 per hour paid semi‑monthly (less taxes and deductions), scheduled for a minimum of 40 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate based on the needs of the business. All wages will be paid in accordance with the regular payroll practices of the company. Overtime is paid at 1.5x regular wage for hours worked beyond 8hrs in a 24hr period and beyond 40hrs in a single work‑week.
