The Warehouse Lead is responsible for maintaining a safe working environment by following all safety rules and procedures, including the use of safety devices and equipment. This role ensures compliance with AIB and/or SQF standards throughout the warehouse and storage facilities, assisting in maintenance, sanitation, and overall cleanliness of the warehouse and surrounding grounds. The Warehouse Lead also supports continuous improvement efforts related to company warehouse operations.
Summaryof Responsibilities
- Assist in coordination of loading and unloading schedules with warehouse staff.
- Monitor inbound and outbound paperwork with forklift drivers, ensuring proper counts and product location.
- Participate in establishing work schedules; ensure schedules are implemented correctly and jobs are assigned effectively.
- Help monitor product location to assure accuracy and optimize space usage through warehouse consolidation.
- Perform all functions relative to the Warehouse Management System, Tarantella, accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with supervision of employees engaged in stacking, storing, and shipping sugar in and out of the warehouse.
- Act as replacement for the Warehouse Manager when the Manager is not on site or unavailable.
- Assist with the progressive disciplinary process including counseling, oral and written warnings; ensure a productive labor climate in the warehouse operation.
- Clean and inspect magnets and scalping screens to ensure product is free of contaminants.
- Maintain AIB and/or SQF standards throughout the warehouse and storage facilities.
- Assist in maintenance, sanitation, and overall cleanliness of the warehouse and surrounding grounds.
- Ensure appropriate record keeping to guarantee tight inventory control and proper product rotation.
- Actively participate in warehouse meetings and committees; initiate and hold meetings as needed.
- Monitor and encourage a clean, neat, and orderly work area within the warehouse.
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and compliance with company safety policies.
- Communicate regularly with Customer Service personnel to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Communicate developments and issues regularly with management and staff.
- Properly open and close the facility as needed.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
- This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol workplace policies.
- In the absence of the manager, function as the Alternate SQF Practitioner.

- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, or similar computer software systems.
- High school graduate or GED minimum.
- Ongoing training on food safety, employee health, and safety.
- Three years or more of forklift experience and/or training.
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Food Safety/Food Defense training.
- OSHA 10-hour training for General Industry.
- Forklift Train the Trainer certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- OSHA 10-hour General Industry certification.
