Trade Show Material Handler

The Trade Show Material Handler plays a key role in supporting end-to-end logistics for trade shows and events, including shipping, packing, inventory management, and special projects. This role ensures that all event materials and promotional assets are prepared, delivered, maintained, and executed accurately, on time, and within budget, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring events to life.

Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end logistics for trade shows and events, including shipping, receiving, packing, and inventory management.
  • Coordinate the movement of event materials and promotional assets to ensure timely and accurate delivery to show sites.
  • Build and prepare simple to medium wood product displays, such as pergolas and tables, using work bench saws and other tools.
  • Check in event properties upon return, inspect them for damage or wear, and refurbish items as needed to maintain quality standards.
  • Apply vinyl graphics to small and medium-sized surfaces with precision and attention to detail.
  • Assist with the full tradeshow process, from preparing and shipping materials to installing displays and assets on-site.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines, adapting to changing priorities and event schedules.
  • Handle material movement and storage using appropriate material handling tools and equipment.
  • Perform accurate data entry related to inventory, shipments, and event materials using office software and tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support special projects and ensure successful event execution.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely to assemble, modify, and maintain displays and event materials.
  • Operate or assist with the operation of forklifts and other warehouse equipment where certification and training allow.
  • Follow safety procedures while working around moving mechanical parts and in warehouse environments.
  • Communicate clearly with team members, vendors, and other stakeholders to coordinate logistics and resolve issues promptly.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects from start to finish with minimal supervision, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, packing, and inventory management.
  • Hands-on experience in material handling within warehouse or event environments.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Experience working with work bench saws and building simple to medium wood displays such as pergolas and tables.
  • Skill in building, preparing, and maintaining product displays for trade shows and events.
  • Ability to apply vinyl graphics to small and medium-sized surfaces with accuracy.
  • Familiarity with the tradeshow industry and the process from shipping to show-site and installation on-site.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent deadlines and time-sensitive tasks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter who can manage projects from start to finish with minimal or no supervision.
  • Commitment to completing tasks thoroughly and accurately.
  • Basic proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, see, and talk while performing job duties, and occasionally push or lift up to 50 pounds.
