Warehouse Associate
Works with others within the department to ensure all tasks are completed. Receives transfers and purchase order merchandise from the delivery trucks, assists vendors with picking up their purchased merchandise. The work must often be accomplished quickly and with a great degree of accuracy.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities- Checks for sharp edges, glass protections and hazardous conditions.
- Use power or handheld tools
- Verify sales receipt and paperwork
- Ensure customers sign for merchandise
- Stages, wraps, and prepares merchandise for the transfer
- Ensures that all accessory transfers are counted and ready to be loaded when the transfer truck arrives.
- May be required to examine and inspect containers, materials, and products in order to ensure that packing specifications are met, and that damaged merchandise is identified and noted.
- Sort and places items on racks, shelves, or in bins
- May at times use a lift to reach items stored on racks.
- Required to assist with organizing the warehouse and work area to maintain safety and orderliness at all times.
- Must wear all required safety equipment and ensure that employees adhere to safety requirements.
- Routinely responsible for cleaning, closing and locking up the warehouse.
- May perform other routine facilities maintenance duties such as sweeping, dusting, cleaning, as necessary.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to work with others, perform work independently or as a team.
- Ability to routinely lift and move heavy objects.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, sales tickets, sku's, safety rules, operating and assembly instructions, and procedure manuals with attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
The employee is regularly required to use back, hands and arms to lift, move, reach, adjust a variety of light weight to heavy weight items. Regularly uses fingers to use a computer keyboard. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee may occasionally be required to climb, sit while to accomplish the work. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus.
