Shop Hand

The hiring range for this position is $18.00-$21.00 p/hour. This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate, along with the requirements of the position.

• Assist with receiving shop assemblies and preparing products for timely shipments
• Pull, organize, and stage materials and orders to support shop technicians and upcoming work
• Help improve shop efficiency by supporting technicians with tasks that keep projects moving forward
• Prepare and organize work areas, materials, and equipment to ensure orders are completed on time
• Secure valves and equipment in crates and strap materials to pallets following established packing procedures
• Help ensure products are shipped safely and arrive at customer sites in excellent condition
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and warehouse environment
• Learn alongside experienced shop technicians while developing valuable mechanical and technical skills
• Support daily operations and contribute to a team focused on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Strong work ethic and sense of urgency to meet team and customer deadlines
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Basic mathematical and measurement skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
• Willingness to learn new skills and work in a fast-paced shop environment
• Positive attitude and desire to contribute to a safe, productive workplace
• Ability to work effectively with teammates, supervisors, and internal customers
• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to supporting quality, timely service
• Organized and detail-oriented, maintaining a clean and orderly work environment while supporting efficient shop and warehouse operations

• Warehouse, shipping, receiving, or shop experience
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort using basic hand tools
• General knowledge of hand tools
