The New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute provides care to New Mexicans across six different divisions including hospital level inpatient psychiatric care for both civil and forensic commitments, residential treatment for adolescents, outpatient care for people with behavioral health disorders, detox and residential substance use treatment, and skilled/long-term care. As the largest behavioral health complex in the state, inpatient/residential care is provided to over 250 New Mexicans every day, along with 400 outpatient clients a month.
There are over 600 employees across all the divisions of NMBHI to ensure high-quality treatment and care is delivered.
$17.00 - $25.49 Hourly
$35,350 - $53,024 Annually

Why does the job exist?The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for Meadows Long-Term Care and is responsible for providing professional, courteous, and efficient front desk support to residents, families, visitors, staff, vendors, and community members.
This position performs all standard front desk and receptionist responsibilities and will also be cross trained in the admissions process to serve as a backup when absolutely necessary. Admissions responsibilities are secondary to the employees
¿ primary Front Desk Receptionist duties.
- Greet and assist residents, families, visitors, staff, vendors, and other guests in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and route calls to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Take accurate messages and ensure messages are forwarded appropriately and timely.
- Provide general information and directions while maintaining resident privacy and confidentiality.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming front desk and reception area.
- Assist with visitor sign-in, facility access procedures, and other established front desk processes.
- Receive, organize, and appropriately route mail, packages, deliveries, documents, and correspondence.
- Assist with basic clerical duties, including filing, copying, scanning, faxing, data entry, and document preparation.
- Maintain appropriate front desk logs, records, forms, and administrative documentation.
- Communicate effectively with nursing, administration, admissions, social services, and other departments as necessary.
- Follow facility policies regarding confidentiality, HIPAA, resident information, safety, and security.
- Perform other reasonable front desk and administrative duties as assigned.
- The Front Desk Receptionist will be trained in Meadows Long-Term Care admissions procedures so that coverage can be provided when the regular admissions staff is unavailable or additional assistance is necessary.
- Backup responsibilities may include:
- Answering and routing admissions-related telephone calls.
- Providing basic information regarding the admissions process.
- Receiving and organizing admissions inquiries and documentation.
- Assisting prospective residents, families, hospitals, providers, or referral sources with appropriate admissions communication.
- Helping gather required admissions documents and information.
- Assisting with data entry and preparation of admission paperwork.
- Coordinating with nursing, administration, social services, business office, and other departments as directed.
- Assisting with an admission when necessary and when appropriately trained to do so.
- Maintaining confidentiality of all applicants and resident information.
The primary customer is for the residents in long term care facility.
Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is detail oriented, highly organized, and experience in administrative or healthcare support functions. They demonstrate strong accuracy in data entry and billing processes with the ability to manage sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality. Dependability, the ability to meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Minimum QualificationNo Prior Experience Or Training Required.
Employment RequirementsMust possess and maintain a valid NM Drivers License.
Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.
