Position Summary

Under the direction of the Project Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent is directly responsible for coordinating and supervising on-site construction activities in accordance with project documents, safety and schedule.

Essential Functions
  • Schedule: Manage daily production schedules, maintain documentation (field notes, punch‑lists, hot lists, lessons learned), assist with scheduling subcontractors and materials, and update schedule documents and inspection dates.
  • Quality: Supervise assigned construction activities to ensure they meet design and project commitments; review plans, contract scopes, submittals, RFIs, and enforce quality control.
  • Safety: Enforce safety, clean‑up, and risk management; ensure OSHA and related safety code compliance; report accidents and prepare accident reports; inspect site for hazards.
  • Budget: Assist the Project Superintendent with material management, sequencing of field operations, staging of materials, field office organization, consultant reports, utility coordination, and punch‑list execution and verification.
Skills & Abilities
  • High school diploma; construction or related field education preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing multi‑family construction projects with a stable employment history and proven track record.
  • Knowledge of site work, utility infrastructure, structural building, mechanical and interior finishes.
  • Technical skills:
    Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite; reading and understanding blueprints.
  • Effective oral communication, writing skills, problem‑solving, forward thinking, and planning ahead.
  • First Aid training and a valid driver’s license.
