Teach General Biology for majors or non‑majors. These courses deal with general aspects of biology at the lower or upper level. Subjects may be Conservation Biology, Ornithology, general biology or others. They are composed of a three hour a week lecture and two hours a week lab. The course may be taught as a dual credit course for the local school systems.

4 Credit Hours - $4200

Teach three hours of lecture a week and two hours of labs with all the duties that it implies in terms of preparation of classes, timely grading of exams and papers, holding limited office hours for student consultation. The candidate must also prepare the labs and make sure they are clean and ready for the next professor before the lab time expires.

Successful candidate will also direct and mentor a Teaching Assistant that will help with the lab activities.

Candidate needs a Master's in Biology or a related field or no less than 18 graduate credits in biology. Previous experience teaching with Hispanic students is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the local communities and the preparation of students in our school district.

Successful candidate must be able to deliver lectures and engage students in the course content. They also need to be proficient in the basic concepts of human biology and the importance of maintaining homeostasis in health care and health sciences.
