The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Transition Advisor, UNLV Enrollment Management, Academic UNLV CSN Transfer Center [R0151904]

ROLE of the POSITION

This position exists to provide academic advising and major/career planning for CSN students planning to transfer to UNLV. The position may be located on the main UNLV campus or at one of the UNLV Satellite campuses located at CSN (Henderson, Charleston, or North Las Vegas), and flexibility to work across multiple locations is required. This position must work with various CSN and UNLV campus administrative offices to stay up-to-date on the curriculum and university policies and procedures to provide accurate information to students.

The Transition Advisor (TA) will also be working with swirl students and promoting diversity, inclusion, and engagement to students moving to UNLV. The Transition Advisor will be a liaison between the advising centers and other units across CSN & UNLV campuses as assigned by the Director. Collaboration and coordination with enrollment management and college faculty and staff (i.e., faculty, undergraduate coordinators, department chairs) will be essential.

The UNLV/ CSN partnership requires both institutions’ attendance at events and requires travel to and from various locations. This position will be required to collaborate with UNLV/CSN campus resources, including the Registrar’s Office, Admissions, Career Services, UNLV Advising centers, etc., to be successful. All advising staff report directly to the UNLV/CSN Transfer Program (UCTP) Director and work to support the transfer program’s strategic plan.

The position should be knowledgeable about the complexities of transfer students related to the smooth transition between or among institutions.

This position is also responsible for providing leadership in carrying out special initiatives as assigned by the Director or other leadership. The Transition Advisor will be expected to travel both in and out of state and work irregular hours; including both weekends and evenings as necessary.
