A part-time job on-campus offers a great way for you to earn money to help pay for school as well as to get a jump start on your career track. Student employment allows you to acquire work experience, transferable job skills, self-confidence, and develop a network of professional contacts for your future career. On-campus jobs include departmental, federal/state work-study, and graduate assistantships (GA) in non-academic departments.
Keep in mind that each department makes their own hiring decisions, therefore students are not placed in a job or guaranteed a job.

The Natural Resources Management ( NRM ) Department houses Environmental Geology, Environmental Science, Geographic Information Systems, and Water Resources programs of study. Each area recognizes the importance of diverse perspectives and experiences and emphasizes interdisciplinarity.
General Job Description
Job description may include technical and specialized duties requiring a high skill level in oral and written communications, critical thinking, initiative, and independent work requiring knowledge of theory, practices and procedures of the assigned area.
Skills and/or Duties:
- Preparing records
- Managing confidential information
- Maintain regular attendance
- Perform other job duties as assigned
Specific Duties
The student work study will serve in multiple roles to assist the NRM department Chair
- Scanning and making copies
- Routine data entry
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- College student at NMHU and enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours
Must be Approved for Federal Work study
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Geology Major but will consider other majors
Experience:
- Work experience in college
