Department SummaryThe Facilities Services Department is responsible for care and maintenance of Facilities on campus. The Facilities Department is also responsible for operating and maintaining the University motor pool. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for providing Preventive Maintenance support.
GeneralJob Description
Job description may include routine, varied, and moderately complex duties involving a moderate degree of responsibility and judgment. May require previous training or equivalent experience. May direct or coordinate activities of other student employees.
Skills and/or Duties:- Routine data entry
- Answering phones; greeting customers; taking messages
- Scanning and making copies
- Training new hires
- Managing schedules
- Providing support to students (tutors, peer mentors, orientation leaders)
- Conduct presentations
- Managing confidential information
- Maintain regular attendance
- Perform other job duties as assigned
- Assists the Preventive Maintenance Tech.
- Is responsible for assisting in the changing of filters on HVAC equipment.
- Maintain regular attendance
- Perform other general maintenance duties as assigned.
Education:
- College student at NMHU enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- No experience to some clerical/office experience
- Must be able to start work at 7:00am
- Possess a New Mexico Driver’s License and Defensive Driving Training (Facilities may provide DD Training)
- Lifting a minimum of 30 pounds – Occasionally

Hourly Rate $10.50/ Hour
