Plant Manager – Glass Recycling

Location:

Las Vegas, NV

Responsibilities
  • Operational excellence and P&L management for the Plant.
  • Production operations, process engineering, environment & safety, customer relations, purchasing, facilities quality, project management, planning & scheduling, employee & labour relations.
  • Lead all plant operations with full accountability for safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environmental performance in a highly regulated process‑manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure compliance with EH&S, PSM, and regulatory standards while fostering a proactive, zero‑incident safety culture.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S, standard work, visual management, waste reduction, and Kaizen events.
  • Apply Six Sigma methodologies to reduce process variation, improve yields, and enhance product consistency.
  • Champion Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to improve equipment reliability, asset utilization, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Establish and actively manage KPIs for safety, throughput, yield, downtime, quality, energy use, and cost performance.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams across Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Meet or exceed cost, efficiency, utilization, quality, and schedule performance objectives as outlined in the Annual Business Plan.
  • Act as a change agent who can manage integration of new processes, training, systems, and metrics to measure continuous improvement and organizational excellence.
  • Collaborate with Environmental, Health and Safety lead to manage and direct all safety and environmental compliance matters (state, local & federal).
  • Evaluate, develop, and improve the overall capabilities and depth of the plant’s technical, operational and managerial resources.
  • Build a strong plant operations management team, train and cross‑train appropriate backups, and foster a collaborative employee environment.
  • Conduct manpower reviews, succession planning, and performance reviews of the operations management team.
  • Prepare detailed production and cost‑reduction plans, budgets, and program/project plans addressing infrastructure and equipment priorities, capacity, cost structure, inventory/WIP, and capital needs.
  • Direct the utilization and application of manufacturing systems, metrics, and controls.
  • Aggressively manage deviations from plan and implement corrective action programs to maximize yields and productivity.
  • Maintain excellent communications with internal and external customers, key executives, and maintain a positive culture conducive to organizational success, employee growth and retention.
  • Ensure timely and effective employee selection and development to improve employee retention.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of operations leadership experience directing production operations, project management, master scheduling, supplier relations & purchasing, environmental compliance, maintenance, process engineering, production control, equipment & capital facilities, safety & related compliance, and logistics/transportation.
  • Undergraduate degree in chemical, mechanical, industrial/manufacturing engineering, production technology, or operations management is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical and engineering background with capability to evaluate equipment, re‑engineer systems, processes, layouts, flows, and automation strategies.
  • Proven track record of implementing manufacturing improvement programs such as lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Ability to develop and manage capital equipment assessment, justification, and integration processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present to staff and corporate headquarters executives.
  • Experience building cohesive teams, fostering high‑integrity character, delivering results, inspiring commitment and accountability.
  • Comfortable functioning in non‑union settings as a change agent and building positive employee relations.
Salary

Competitive regional salary with eligibility for an annual bonus and equity. Salary is determined based on job‑related factors including skills, experience, qualifications, alignment with market data, and internal equity.
