Plumbing Project Designer | Las Vegas, NV

IMEG is hiring a Plumbing Project Designer in Las Vegas, Nevada, to support the design and delivery of plumbing systems for low- to moderate-complexity building projects while collaborating with senior staff on larger, more complex work. In this role, you will provide engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight, working closely with engineers and consultants to deliver practical solutions and positive client outcomes.

You’ll also help manage project budgets while mentoring teammates and collaborating across functions to meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Lead design efforts for the analysis of plumbing and fire protection systems
  • Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Interact with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, communicate technical information, and maintain professional relationships
  • Support project execution by leading planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Document design decisions, client instructions, and project progress related to percent complete and fee expended
  • Analyze engineering problems and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
  • Perform in-process design reviews of plumbing and fire protection system designs, calculations, and specifications
  • Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet IMEG standards, industry standards, and client requirements
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in plumbing engineering and contribute to research and innovation efforts within IMEG
  • Prioritize safety by identifying and mitigating risks associated with plumbing systems and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Identify potential project problems, seek advice from the Project Manager, and support projects through bidding and construction administration phases
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required
