Randstad is seeking a Senior Tax Manager for an established, rapidly expanding client to fill a newly created position reporting directly to the Director of Tax. In this role, the candidate will oversee multi-state regulatory compliance, corporate tax provisions (ASC 740), and specialized indirect taxes across more than 30 jurisdictions. The ideal CPA will combine technical tax acumen with operational leadership to architect automated tax systems, scale internal processes, and drive tax strategy to support ongoing business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Director of Tax to drive strategic initiatives, operational frameworks, and efficient workflows to support ongoing corporate expansion.
- Configure enterprise tax software capable of managing high-volume transactions across a growing footprint of more than 30 distinct state and local jurisdictions.
- Direct and review the timely filing of all Federal, State, and local corporate income and franchise tax returns across an expanding multi-state footprint.
- Own end-to-end quarterly and year-end corporate tax provision calculations (ASC 740), managing deferred tax assets, liabilities, and valuation allowances.
- Recruit, train, and scale tax department staff under the leadership of the Director of Tax, establishing structured technical paths to upskill staff in multi-state compliance, specialized energy excise taxes, and new software systems.
- Maintain total accountability for tax balance sheet reconciliations against the general ledger while establishing robust internal controls aligned with financial reporting standards.
- Support the Director of Tax in formulating optimization strategies to minimize the Effective Tax Rate (ETR) and perform structured scenario modeling for legislative shifts, acquisitions, and new entity formations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s in Taxation or JD is highly preferred).
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive corporate tax experience within an established corporate environment or combined with public accounting.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of multi-state corporate nexus laws, and corporate tax provisioning.
