This position is a Pay Band C13

Position provides direct supervision, coaching, mentoring, and training to subordinates and will provide highly comprehensive nursing care.

Incumbent will supervise, plan and schedule nursing services, assist physicians and other personnel, closely supervise specialized nursing requirements and coordinate nursing services with other departments.

Patients/Residents/Clients

Ideal candidate will have:

• Experience with disciplinary actions
• Experience implementing policies, procedures and competency
• Experience with being compliant with state, Federal and JCAHO Standards

Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and two (2) years of management experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.

Must possess and maintain a current driver's license. Must obtain a defensive driving certificate.

• SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITIONS--This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing. In accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules, and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Employment is subject to nationwide criminal background checks and is conditional pending results.
• CRIMINAL RECORDS BACKGROUND CHECK - Must successfully complete post offer pre-employment criminal records background check. Employment is conditional pending the results of criminal records background checks. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).

This position will perform work in a hospital and office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Exposure to mentally and behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable and sometimes violent behaviors in volatile situations requiring crisis intervention may be required. As of 01/01/2015, the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became a 100% Tobacco Free/E-Cigarette Free Campus.

As such, no tobacco products may be used on campus.
