Position Summary
The role of the Sr. Associate Engineer, Security is to manage and proactively support the Rimini Street security solutions under the guidance of a Security Solutions Architect. The SRPA will follow the project plans and apply best practices to work with the client’s IT teams to manage the environment, under the guidance of a Security Solutions architect. These products will be implemented in client’s on-premise or cloud IT landscapes where the various business-critical applications such as Oracle EBS, Peoplesoft, SAP, JDE, Hyperion etc.,
are hosted for Rimini Street clients. The SRPA is responsible to collaborate with Global Security Services (GSS) teams for post-implementation support including but not limited to the application security policy maintenance, installation of security patches and security software updates.
The SRPA will also be responsible for complete monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting and managing the security solution. The position will also be responsible to work very closely with the Security Solutions Architects to improve the product implementation and adaptation process by providing valuable feedback.
This role reports to the GVP of Rimini Security & Technology Solutions (STS) and is based at Rimini's corporate office in Las Vegas.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks
- Troubleshooting security problems
- Monitoring application/database for security breaches, malicious attempts
- Ensuring that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls
- Participating in the change management process
- Participating in client meetings
- Create/Maintain standard operating procedures
- Report to members of senior management on potential threats, proposed improvements, and ongoing security issues
- Constantly strive to find vulnerabilities in hardware, software, and applications
- Appropriately respond to security breaches and investigate how they occurred
- Keep updated on cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or cyber security
- CompTIA Security+ certification - a plus
- SSCP - Systems Security Certified Practitioner - a plus
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator - a plus
- Experience Linux/Windows knowledge is a requirement
- Understanding of incident detection, incident response, and forensics
- Understanding of Firewalls and Endpoint Security
- Basic knowledge to code (Python, Java, Linux shell, and/or Power Shell)
- Basic understanding of RDBMS
- Previous experience in communicating with customers and meeting customer demands
- Communication skills with client and team members
- Ability to work under pressure in a challenging environment
- Strong diligence with an analytical mind and outstanding critical thinking skills
The general salary range for this type of role is 112k - 140k depending on skills and experience. Benefits for US employees include:
