Maintenance and Repair Worker Supervisor (DOH/NMBHI #12802)

Salary: $21.96 - $32.94 Hourly; $45,680 - $68,520 Annually. This position is a Pay Band C5.
Why does the job exist? This position is responsible in providing direct leadership to other Carpenters in the Plant Department.
How does it get done? Responsible for providing leadership, guidance, training, mentoring and daily management of other Carpenters to include direct oversight of the day-to-day operations. Completes assessments and conducts inspections of both interior/exterior buildings to meet quality/safety standards. Daily professional interaction with staff in creating a respectful/positive atmosphere where employees are valued and providing on-the-job support/training. Organizing workflows and ensuring that employees understand their duties/delegated tasks and monitoring productivity/providing constructive feedback/coaching.
Resolving employee issues by building strong/productive working relationships utilizing trust and effective communication skills.
Who are the customers? Patients/Residents/Clients.
Ideal Candidate- Experience in carpentry;
- Experience with operating heavy equipment;
- Experience with assisting carpenters, plumbers, painters and electricians as needed;
- Experience as a supervisor.
High School Diploma or Equivalent and two (2) years of experience in general buildings and grounds maintenance, custodial duties, construction, or appliance repair. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment RequirementsMust possess a current driver's license and defensive driving certificate.
Working ConditionsWork may be performed indoors and outdoors; lifting, climbing, walking; exposure to hazards such as boilers, dust, high noise levels, fumes and rodents. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. On call 24/7 during inclement weather.
