Why does the job exist?Position will monitor and maintain an inventory of performance measures for all work units, ie. construction, maintenance and administration within District
4. Develop and implement improvement strategies regarding current processes and procedures in addition to being responsible for applying for various quality awards and grants where the District meets the eligible criteria. Position will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the District brochures, publications, and Employee Recognition Program. Will be the main contact for the New Mexico Roads Website, local and state news agencies and act as the spokesperson regarding District news and events.
does it get done?
Compile and analyze inquiries and submit periodic reports to management, drafting news releases for radio, newspaper, and television use, prepare articles for departmental newsletter layout.

Ideal CandidateIdeal candidate will have Experience drafting news releases for radio, newspaper, and television Experience prioritizing and completing complex administrative tasks under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Experience working with local governments, counties, tribes/pueblos and special districts. Experience working to resolve complaints or complex issues with staff, traveling public, and Agency entity's
Associate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting and one (1) year of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
EmploymentRequirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
Bargaining Unit PositionThis position is not covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
