Dental Assisting Experience Required

You are confident leading others, comfortable making decisions, and energized by helping a dental team perform at its best.
As A Lifetime of Smiles continues to grow and invest in our team, we are expanding our leadership structure and looking for an experienced dental professional to become our Practice Floor Director. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing the real-time flow of our practice and helping create an exceptional experience for both our patients and our team. The Practice Floor Director works directly with our Chief Operations Officer and provides leadership to our department leads and team members.
WhatYou'll Do
The Practice Floor Director will help lead the patient day from start to finish, maintaining awareness of clinical operations, patient flow, treatment, scheduling, and team needs while helping each department work together effectively.
You will:- Coordinate patient, doctor, hygiene, clinical, and administrative flow throughout the day
- Support efficient scheduling and timely patient care
- Lead department leads and reinforce practice standards and expectations
- Coach and develop dental assistants using your own clinical experience
- Support strong communication and handoffs between clinical and administrative teams
- Oversee treatment-plan presentation and help patients understand and move forward with recommended care
- Identify opportunities for appropriate same-day treatment
- Monitor daily practice goals and help the team work toward them
- Recognize opportunities to improve efficiency, communication, and the patient experience
- Step into clinical operations when necessary to assist, demonstrate, troubleshoot, or train
- Hands-on dental assisting experience is required. This person must have the clinical knowledge and experience necessary to confidently coach and develop our dental assisting team.
- Candidates should have a strong understanding of dental procedures, clinical workflow, treatment sequencing, and dental radiographs within the scope of their role. Treatment-plan presentation experience is also required, along with the ability to confidently communicate with patients about recommended care.
- Previous experience as a Lead Dental Assistant, Clinical Coordinator, Treatment Coordinator, Assistant Office Manager, Dental Office Manager, or dental team leader is strongly preferred.
