Description: The Lathrop R-II School District is accepting applications for a High School Resource Teacher (FTE 0.5) for the school year. Qualified applicants must have appropriate certification and a thorough understanding of the special education process.
- Possess and maintain a Special Education Teaching Certificate from the State of Missouri.
- Demonstrate appropriate preparation for instruction.
- Choose and implement appropriate methodology and varied instructional strategies that address the diversity of the learners.
- Provide continuous feedback to students and families.
- Communicate appropriately with students, parents, community and staff.
- Use various ongoing assessments to monitor the effectiveness of instruction.
- Align the assessments with the goals, objectives and instructional strategies of the district curriculum guides and/or IEPs.
- Use assessment techniques that are appropriate to the varied characteristics and developmental needs of students.
- Engage in professional development activities consistent with the goals and objectives of the building, district and state.
- Participate in building, grade level and subject area committees.
- Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team or other student assistance teams as requested.
- Create a positive learning environment.
- Effectively manage student behaviors.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and orderly environment within the school setting.
- Maintain accurate student records including attendance, grades and discipline.
- Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all the policies, procedures and regulations of the building and district.
- Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination and harassment as directed by Board policy.
