- Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead process design, validation, and improvement initiatives in an aseptic manufacturing environment.
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and P&IDs for pilot and commercial production lines.
- Create and manage technical documentation, project plans, and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with GMP and FSMA regulations.
- Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and batch documentation.
- Lead equipment qualification and validation programs (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Define operating parameters and acceptable process ranges.
- Evaluate manufacturing capability for new and existing products.
- Support new product development and pilot plant trials.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement root cause analysis solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement and yield optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities, capital improvements, and equipment upgrades.
- Develop ROI analysis and technical proposals for capital projects.
- Assist with training operators and maintenance teams on equipment and sanitation procedures.
- Support scale-up from pilot plant to commercial production.
Needed:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in food processing or food manufacturing
- Experience scaling production from pilot plant to commercial manufacturing
- Strong background in aseptic processing and sanitary design principles
- Experience creating PFDs and P&IDs using CAD software
- Experience working with PLC and HMI automation systems
- Knowledge of food processing equipment sizing and specifications
- Experience writing technical documentation, SOPs, and project proposals
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD tools
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with production and technical teams
