Raymond West is looking for a dynamic Field Service Technician to join the Service team. The Field Service Technicians will service, troubleshoot, and repair all makes of material handling equipment at customer locations. Prior mechanical work experience is preferred.

• Repair all types of equipment that Raymond West sells and services.
• Update training and skills on a continuing basis.
• Train other employees as needed.
• Maintain a profitable billing level.
• Follow all Service Department procedures.
• Communicate with assigned Field Supervisor.
• Complete all paperwork transactions in a timely, neat, accurate and orderly fashion.
• Communicate all options to customers before proceeding with work.
• Have the necessary tools to perform repair and scheduled service work.
• Complete jobs within quoted time limits when applicable.
• Maintain a clean and orderly (inside and outside) vehicle.
• Maintain an accurate assigned parts inventory, if applicable.
• Represent the entire company at all times.
• Pass Raymond Certification and re-certification if applicable.
• Maintain good working knowledge of customers and equipment in assigned areas.
• Maintain an acceptable driving record as established by the company’s insurance carrier.
• Report accidents whether self or customer.
• Account for 100% of available time during working hours.
• Must be willing to work overtime when necessary and coordinate all overtime with the assigned supervisor.
• Follow all procedures in the company’s Employee Handbook and safety procedures.
• Must be willing to work out of town as necessary.
• Establish a positive rapport with customers.
• Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by the Service Supervisors or Managers.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
• Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, co-workers, and managers in other departments
• Willing to work off-hours as needed and assume more responsibility as required
• Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner
• Self-motivated and able to manage time efficiently
• Customer oriented and able to exhibit professional behavior at all times
• Willing to follow mandates and procedures of the Service Department
• Ability to deal with customers on a face-to-face basis
• Maintain sound working relationships with other technicians and fellow workers
• Must pass all required certificates appropriate to the position
• Working knowledge of basic DC and AC electricity, internal combustion, and diesel engines
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Mathematical ability with basic operations and unit conversions
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions
• Raymond Level 1 Certification or working toward that goal, if applicable
