Forklift Operator II

Overview

Forklift Operator II is responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking and counting merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and may also be required to perform order filler or order checker duties in addition to their own. This position requires the ability to operate within a rack warehouse environment and must be able to use sit‑down/stand‑up, clamp, cherry and reach equipment.

Forklift certification is required on at least three pieces of equipment, and the operator must spend fifty percent or more of their time on these types of equipment.

• Stacks and stores merchandise in designated areas using sit‑down/stand‑up, clamp, cherry, and/or reach equipment (50% of service time).
• Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to storage locations.
• Pulls and prepares products for shipment.
• Ensures that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
• Performs picking duties efficiently, meeting customer service standards.
• Moves product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers.
• Operates all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.
• Maintains appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security.
• Assists in physical inventories.
• Ensures proper stock rotation.
• Conducts cycle counts as requested.
• Makes use of Excel and general computer knowledge.
• Has basic safety understanding in operating equipment.
• Reports safety concerns to management in a timely manner.
• Reports inventory discrepancies to the inventory control team and assists in resolution.
• Completes inspection forms prior to operating equipment.
• Uses RF scanning equipment to ensure inventory accuracy.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of forklift experience and/or use of warehouse distribution equipment.
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10–12 hours.
• Must be able to lift and/or pull 50 lbs. without restriction.
• Regularly bends, lifts, stretches, and reaches both below the waist and above the head.
• Wanders throughout a distribution center over a quarter mile in length.
• Can work in environments with variable noise, lighting, and temperature, and can access all areas of the building without restrictions.
• Availability to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Has attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and basic math skills.

We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $21.00 /HOUR. The starting rate of pay may also be eligible for an additional $X/HOUR based on shift work.
