The Second Shift Lead directs daily warehouse, processing and logistics operations. They ensure safe, efficient handling and processing of steel products to meet customer specifications. Core duties include team leadership, inventory management, equipment monitoring, and enforcing strict safety protocols.

• Team leadership:
  Train, schedule and supervise warehouse personnel, including material handlers, laser operators, drivers, and saw operators. Manage, evaluate and report on all activity and production.
• Quality Control:
  Inspect incoming steel shipments and outgoing finished goods to verify accuracy, grade, dimensions, packaging, and material condition.
• Safety and Compliance:
  Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety protocol, conduct safety meetings, and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintenance:
  Coordinate regular maintenance and repairs of operational, processing and transportation equipment.
• Logistics and Dispatch:
  Oversee material handling, coordinate stock transfers between branches, and route outgoing trucks efficiently.
• Inventory Management:
  Monitor stock levels and assist with conducting physical inventory counts.
