Bowling Club Advisor
The Greater Latrobe School District is seeking a dedicated Bowling Club Advisor to organize and supervise the high school bowling club. The advisor will support students in learning basic bowling skills, building teamwork, and enjoying a positive extracurricular experience in a safe and inclusive environment. This volunteer role works with building administration and the activities office to coordinate practices and events in accordance with district policies.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Organize, supervise, and facilitate regular Bowling Club meetings, practices, and activities.
- Introduce and reinforce fundamental bowling techniques, rules, scoring, and safety appropriate to student skill levels.
- Promote positive sportsmanship, teamwork, and respectful behavior among all participants.
- Ensure appropriate supervision and student safety at all club activities, including off-campus bowling sessions.
- Coordinate practice times, lane reservations, and any informal competitions with the bowling facility and school administration.
- Communicate schedules, expectations, and updates to students, families, and administration in a clear and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of student participation and any required forms (permission slips, emergency contacts, etc.).
- Uphold and model all district policies and procedures related to student conduct, transportation, and safety.
- Collaborate with the building principal or designee regarding club needs.
- Perform other related duties necessary for the successful operation of the Bowling Club as assigned by the building principal and/or athletic director.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills for managing student groups in both school and off-campus settings.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with students, families, and staff.
- Commitment to fostering student engagement, positive behavior, and a safe extracurricular experience.
